John Wanamaker, the father of advertising once said “50% of marketing works, if only I knew which 50%” and that might have been the case in those times but with the different tools we have nowadays marketers can track almost everything, especially when it comes to online marketing.

One of the best tools out there for marketing tracking is Google Analytics, this is a free Google tool that lets you track almost everything on your website. With this tool, you will know the number of visitors, duration of visits, clicks, how they move around your website, how they got there, and many other things.

With all of this information, you will be able to create the necessary strategies to improve your company’s positioning, and as they say: “if you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.”

You must know where you are standing to design your digital marketing plan and what exactly you need for it. So, how can analytics help you know this and why is it beneficial for your company?

It helps you understand what kind of first impression you make

Google Analytics lets you see how many people visited your website but finally bounced (left), which means they didn’t find what they were looking for. This tool will show you which pages are experiencing a high bounce rate and which are exceeding expectations.

This allows you to change some elements such as mobile optimization, design, content, and its usefulness to make more conversions and attract more recurring or returning customers.

For example, your content may not be interesting enough and you need to consult online writing guides or an expert to make it perfect, at atds we can help you with that, our marketing team creates the perfect strategies and content for your company’s needs.

Find out where your users come from

Geographical location is really important for doing business and that is exactly part of the information that Google Analytics provides you. Knowing where your users are coming from, helps you create a personalized marketing campaign for that specific location.

Identify your positioning in search engines

You may already know the basics of SEO and how to use keywords to get a better position in search engine rankings and leads.

However, you can always get a higher position: from page two to page one, for example. Use other SEO elements if you have noticed that a certain keyword has generated a lot of traffic to your website try to use it as much as you can to get your page to a high-ranking position.

Use segmentation

Segmenting your market is much easier when you have a powerful ally like GA. By using your Advanced Segments, you can easily learn a lot about your users and determine how and which ones to target properly.

Get more value and personalization for your campaigns by using your traffic data to create specific campaigns for each of your segments.

Learn about keywords

To attract and retain traffic, you need to be visible in Google search engines, and you generally need to rank high to get the attention you want and need. Relevant keywords and search terms that are embedded in your URLs will help you get this attention.

This is where GA comes into play. It can show you which keywords attract the most users. It provides you with a direct breakdown of the queries that lead users to your website and the exact pages. Use specific keywords to get the best results.

Study your competition

GA allows you to get an idea of your competitor’s traffic. You can use this to your advantage, to see and compare how many visitors you are gaining compared to how many visitors you have.

You can then proceed to see what they do differently from you and tailor your site to be more like theirs in terms of useful content, layout, etc.

Know which social media platform works best for you

Google Analytics shows you where your users like to engage more, it tells you from which social media platform your users came into your website. By knowing this you can then focus on those platforms and advertise your products or services, this will help you save all that time and money you spent on other platforms that maybe are not for your business.

With atds it’s easier for you to direct your efforts towards the platforms you need, we help you create the perfect strategy and content for every social media platform.

Establish what to offer next

After seeing all this information in GA and understanding what drives your visitors, you can use that information to offer new and interesting things. Products, services, content – all-new and designed specifically for your users based on the data you have collected.

Try each new element, track what gives you success, and keep focusing on that.

Google Analytics is a very useful tool for any company. If you know how to use it correctly, it can give you a lot of useful information on how to improve your website offers and catch up with your competition. This will of course position your brand much higher, of course always keep in mind that marketing content creation and strategies are crucial for this process.

Data Science is a discipline that has been around for a long time. Many have heard of the term but find it hard to define, since it combines various fields such as statistics, scientific methods, artificial intelligence and data analysis. The data is first prepared, then cleaned, aggregated and processed. Subsequently, an extended data analysis is performed. The results can then be reviewed and patterns can be identified from which insights can be drawn. Data Science is also closely related to data mining, machine learning and big data.

Data Science is also a branch of engineering and mathematics and is therefore important for TEWS. At TEWS, Data Science is applied to perfect the instruments and their processes.

TEWS instruments can be used to determine the moisture and density content of products in the food/feed, paper, pharmaceutical, chemistry and tobacco industry. The data produced by TEWS instruments must be analyzed and interpreted using statistical methods and can then be displayed graphically.

A single moisture value may not say much at first glance, but it hides a great deal of information: With the help of Data Science, it is possible to make statements about this value and draw conclusions for future action. For example, if a moisture value has changed significantly over the last few months, or if it has fluctuated greatly, it is possible to deduce what problems might exist in the costumer’s production process.

Three steps are essential for Data Science and form the foundation for further action:

  1. Domain Expertise & Business Understanding

First of all, we need to understand the customer’s production process and its challenges. Because often customers approach us with the question of whether we can measure the moisture content or density of their product at a certain production step and in the end it turns out, based on our decades of experience in a wide range of industries, that the measurement at another point makes more sense. So before we can focus on determining how the moisture or density value can be used we have to understand the customer’s process and define the measurement problem, first.

  1. Engineering

During the engineering phase, we focus together with the customer on the correct installation, setup and adjustment of the suitable measuring system. Once the measurement system is calibrated and running properly, it can generate, process and store data.

  1. Data Interpretation

In the third step, the data from the moisture and density measurement instrument is analyzed and interpreted using statistical methods. For example, mean values, noise and fluctuations can be determined. The identification of correlations and trends as well as of recurring patterns are important for drawing further conclusions: How has the moisture value developed over time, , what conclusions can be drawn from this and are there measures that must and can be taken against it?

The domain expertise, i.e., the knowledge that exists about the customer problem, is enhanced with the help of engineering methods. This results in approaches that are then interpreted and evaluated.  TEWS uses data science methods to practice co-improving: TEWS is a solution provider with the goal of finding scientifically sound, precise, reliable and robust solutions to the customer problem.

So Data Science can help us….

  • Understand customer problems
  • Quantify previously qualitative problems
  • Develop appropriate customer-specific solutions
  • Improve customer processes
  • Connect our MW systems
